Barbershop is a 2002 comedy film directed by Tim Story and starring Ice Cube. The film follows the lives and interactions of the customers and staff of a barbershop on the South Side of Chicago.
The film Barbershop title on the poster is very similar to ITC Berkeley Old Style Black. ITC Berkeley Old Style is based on the University of California Old Style, a typeface designed by Frederic W. Goudy in 1938. In 1983, Tony Stan redrew the family for ITC and was named Berkeley Old Style after the city in which the University of California Press is located.
