Popular Mechanics is an American magazine that covers various topics related to science, technology, and engineering. It was first published in 1902 and has since become a well-known source for DIY projects, product reviews, and innovation news.

Christian Schwartz designed the Popular typeface for Popular Mechanics' nameplate. It blends the no-nonsense engineering charm of DIN with structure from the strong slab serifs Stymie, Memphis & Rockwell. The font family has 11 styles with corresponding italics. More info is available here.
